So, I'm working on setting up a kind of trainer forum for the elderly folk I teacher computer classes to. I remember a little bit about how the admin sort of things work from my brief stint as an admin on Sork's late PHP board, but I'll probably have some questions if you don't mind answering them, Lazy. Right now the main thing I'm wondering is how you make it so people can't post or even see the board unless they are logged in.

The way I did it was creating a group for people that I want to have access to some of the hidden forums on this board. These can't be read unless you are registered and a member of that group.
With allowing posting in forums it is even easier: you can set allowance to post forum by forum and set them as you like. Either to registered or everyone.
